Thank you for sharing this powerful message. It is a needed reminder that anything we love, trust, or value more than God can become an idol. The Lord alone deserves our worship, our devotion, and our complete surrender. Exodus 20:3 reminds us, You shall have no other gods before Me. Our hearts are constantly tempted to place success, comfort, possessions, or even relationships above Christ, but true peace is found only when Jesus is first in our lives. Colossians 3:5 tells us to put to death whatever belongs to our earthly nature, and 1 John 5:21 simply says, Little children, keep yourselves from idols. David prayed in Psalm 139:23-24, Search me, O God, and know my heart... see if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. That should be the prayer of every believer. May the Holy Spirit continually reveal anything that competes for our affection and give us the grace to surrender it completely to the Lord. Jesus alone is worthy of our worship, and He alone satisfies the deepest longing of our hearts. Thank you for faithfully pointing people back to God's truth. May the Lord continue to bless your ministry and use your writing to lead many people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. God bless you abundantly.

Thank you for this beautiful and challenging reality check, Geoff; it clearly contrasts the terror we have over losing “things” with the reverent fear we must have of our great and awesome God.
